Care Tips for Your Collectible
Once you receive that eagerly awaited collectible, it’s important to know how to care for it. That way, you can get the most out of displaying your favorite figures and statues proudly in your home! Here are some helpful tips for better maintaining your piece over time.
- Always ensure your piece is displayed in a temperature-controlled environment. Excess heat, humidity, or dryness can impact the longevity of your collectible. This means making sure the item is not displayed in direct sunlight, near a fireplace or other heat source, near an A/C or heater vent, etc.
- For 1:6 collectibles and other figures with silicone “skin” and seamless joints, it’s best to avoid any dynamic poses for long periods of time as this can put stress on the material. Museum poses are going to be best for the preservation of your figure.
- When storing your piece for any amount of time, it’s always best to pack it safely away in its original packaging. The original internal packaging and box are meant to protect the piece and will be the best way to keep it safe when storing or moving it.
- Ensure your display surface (table, shelf, cabinet, etc.) is sturdy, steady, and level.
- Should you need to clean your collectible, it’s best to use a clean microfiber cloth or soft detail brush to take care of any dust. If necessary, you can lightly dampen the microfiber cloth.
