Light Up Function Isn't Working?

Lightsabers, repulsors, explosions, even the Bat-signal – some statues and figures feature illuminated elements to enhance the action on your shelf!

If you’ve recently unboxed your newest collectible and found that the awesome light-up feature doesn’t seem to work, here are a few troubleshooting tips to (hopefully) brighten your day.

Please be sure to perform the following suggestions while the piece is off:

  • Try fresh batteries: It's rare, but sometimes the batteries included in the package may be dead on arrival.

  • Check the adapter and cables: Make sure to take some time to review the item’s instructions and ensure you are using the correct adapter and cords for your piece. It’s important to note that Apple power cubes and cords will not work with most pieces, and you will also want to ensure that you are using a cable that provides power only. Cables that provide power and data will not work.

  • Clean the connections: Sometimes clear glossy paint on a collectible can interfere with the electrical current. Examine and clean the connections by lightly and carefully applying some rubbing alcohol with a Q-tip and / or cleaning wipe.

  • Turn it on & leave it on: After cleaning the connectors and checking power adapters and cables, you can reassemble your piece and turn it on and leave it on for 10-20 minutes. Sometimes it just needs time.

If the above steps did not pull you into the light, you can snap a few photos of your adapter and cable, make sure you are logged into your Sideshow account and then click here.
